Lately I have been obsessed with sneakers and tracksuits and everything sportswear! However, that cute tracksuit can easily verge on the edge of looking bummy if you aren’t careful. That’s why it’s crucial to style it correctly so it looks like an intentional sporty slay and not an accidental lazy look. My favorite way to “dress” the look up a little bit is with bold jewelry and accessories. For this look, I rocked a chunky gold chain necklace, and added some gold bobby pins to my hair for extra interest and to make it stand out more. For the second look, I kept the same poufy hair with gold bobby pins, and switched out the gold chunky chain for a layered necklace. We all woke up Friday to what was supposed to be Fall and feels more like…Winter. WHAT GIVES! I was going on and on about how excited I was for Fall, so I could break out my fall clothes – sweaters, jeans, boots, etc – and instead the temperature dropped 30 degrees literally OVERNIGHT! Normally, Fall entails at least a COUPLE weeks of perfect 70 degree days with sun and zero humidity, which is the perfect recipe for a fall slay that leaves you feeling cute and comfy without freezing your legs off!   I first received products from the 100% Virgin Coconut Oil collection in one of my Sheabassador boxes earlier this year. I got the Rehydration Treatment Masque, which I immediately fell in love with, and a selection of skincare products from this line as well. When I received another product from this line – the Daily Hydration Styling Gel – in my last box, I decided to go all out and purchase the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in spray as well. I can safely say after using these products for several weeks that this line works as well if not BETTER for my hair than the Coconut & Hibiscus line, which for me is the OG curly hair line! Texture on the Runway 2018 Recap

  Last week I had the absolute PLEASURE of attending this year’s Texture on the Runway, hosted by Naturally Curly and Sally Beauty. TOTR is part fashion show, part cocktail party, and part natural/curly hair meetup – all in one event! It is probably the most high profile event of the year for the natural hair world, so I was ecstatic to get an invite this year. My friend and I took a bus up from DC the morning of, and ended up BOOKING it from our bus stop to our AirBnB in Brooklyn once we arrived. We didn’t have very much time in between getting to Manhattan and going to the event, so we had to rush to get food, get ready and get an uber back to the city.
