March Spotify Playlist

Happy March bb’s! You know what this means – we’re ALMOST done with winter! I am personally looking forward to longer days (once daylight savings starts), warmer weather, and hopefully NO MORE SNOW! I am only two winters into living on the east coast again, and I don’t think I will EVER be here for this snow bullshit! Like, tf?? Luckily, we have beautiful cherry blossoms here in DC in the spring (which I missed last year when I was in Israel 😭 so hopefully I’ll catch them this year!) Anyway, I also have a trip planned to LA at the end of March, which I am V excited for! I am going with one of my best friends, who has been to LA a couple times before, but never with ME! So obvi it’s gonna be great for her too, lol. But in all seriousness, I pretty much know…

Fenty Beauty: My Latest Obsession

Fenty Beauty: My Latest Obsession

Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last year, you know that EVERYONE is going crazy over Rihanna’s makeup line, Fenty Beauty. Aside from the gorgeous sleek packaging, stunning colors and impressive pigmentation of every product, it has a range of foundation and concealer shades that is so unrivaled that it shook up the entire beauty industry. Before Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty and the initial 50 shades of foundation, almost no other makeup brand on the market had as wide a range of shades and undertones and that meant that darker girls were usually the ones left out. Rihanna created more dark-skintone shades in her foundation line than anyone has ever seen before, and came THROUGH with the formula as well! Finally – a brand created for Black women, BY a Black woman. And not just any Black woman – RIHANNA! Since the launch, she has just continously assaulted…

How to: Style Streetwear

How to: Style Streetwear

Lately I have been obsessed with sneakers and tracksuits and everything sportswear! However, that cute tracksuit can easily verge on the edge of looking bummy if you aren’t careful. That’s why it’s crucial to style it correctly so it looks like an intentional sporty slay and not an accidental lazy look. My favorite way to “dress” the look up a little bit is with bold jewelry and accessories. For this look, I rocked a chunky gold chain necklace, and added some gold bobby pins to my hair for extra interest and to make it stand out more. For the second look, I kept the same poufy hair with gold bobby pins, and switched out the gold chunky chain for a layered necklace. The pop of neon from the sneakers is the statement piece of this outfit. I think these accessories are more than enough to dress up sportswear for a…

Miami Travel Blog: Part II

If you haven’t yet, make sure you read Part I of my Miami trip recap! If you are all caught up, then continue reading below: Day 4: Sunday morning I woke up ready for another day at the beach, but Bumble boy insisted on going to the gym – AGAIN! I was like FFS you are already so fit, take a day off! He was determined to go, and I was determined not to get left alone all day again, so I just decided to go with him. After walking about a mile in 80something degrees and high humidity – plus an intermission for him to smoke this short dude with pigtails that challenged him to a one-on-one – I was already exhausted by the time we got to the gym! Normally I eat before working out, but he convinced me to just drink coffee instead, so I was running…

Miami Travel Blog: Part I

This trip to Miami was looong overdue – it had been over seven years since my last trip down there! I am pretty sure the last time I went to Miami was for Ultra Music Festival, and let’s just say I have changed a lot since then. Needless to say, I was eager to revisit the city, spend some time at the beach, and just get out of the cold in DC for a minute! The original impetus for this trip was Art Basel, but that wasn’t the main reason for going. My best friend from San Diego has been living back home in Tampa most of the year, building up a van to move back to the West Coast in. Art Basel fell right in between her 30th birthday and when she planned to leave the East Coast, so the timing just ending up being too perfect not to…
