Girl’s Trip to Puerto Rico: Travel Guide

ICMYI on my Instagram and YouTube, I spent five days in Puerto Rico with three of my best girl friends a few weeks ago, and had the time of our lives! We stayed in San Juan and spent all of our time there, minus an excursion to a beach about an hour away one of the days. We had made plans to take an excursion to Vieques and/or El Yunque National Forest, but for several reasons were not able to go to either. If you want to know what we DID end up doing, check out this blog post, and if you are looking for some more recommendations, keep on reading! Restaurants & Cafes Puebla – Comida Mexicana and Cantina We ate here for my “birthday dinner” and it may have been our best meal of the trip! We all were DYING over the elote, and the drinks were great as well! They…

What Turning 30 Means to Me

What Turning 30 Means to Me

Even though I already turned 30 a few weeks ago, I have been reflecting on what changes I have noticed since then. I have felt “older than my age” my whole life, and have DEFINITELY been sick of being in my 20s for a few years now, but I feel like there were subtle shifts that happened the week of my birthday. First of all, I am SUPER excited that I can now proudly say I am 30! Not 28, not 29, but THIRTY! I can now participate in 30+ Twitter threads, give a very valid excuse to boys in their 20s as to why I cannot date them, and also appreciate the shock value after telling my age to people who think I am much younger! What excites me the most is how I am finally able to apply some of the lessons I learned throughout my 20s, namely…

Why I Consider Myself High Maintenance Now (and Think It’s a Good Thing!)

Why I Consider Myself High Maintenance Now (and Think It’s a Good Thing!)

Everyone talks about being high maintenance as a bad thing, and it is something I think most of us – especially women – have internalized. I always prided myself on being low maintenance: go with the flow, not fussy, easy going, etc. For a long time, I believed that those things were necessary in order to be likeable, as well as enjoy my own life. As I get older and get closer to turning 30 this year, I have started to notice different areas of my life where I am more “high maintenance”, and I am not just ok with it, I think it’s a good thing! Let me clarify – more importantly than anything, I am the one maintaining myself, so can’t nobody tell me what’s too high maintenance in the first place! Second, I have realized that a lot of what we consider “high maintenance” in a bad…

March Spotify Playlist

March Spotify Playlist

Happy Monday and happy March 1st y’all!! I love when a new month starts on a Monday – it just gives what it’s supposed to give! All the motivating and fresh start vibes I love. Plus, the days are getting longer, the temperature is creeping up, and Spring is right around the corner! This is the first month that I feel somewhat settled going into the month – last month I was on my trip to Arizona when February started, and nobody is settled when January starts! I started a new job last month, and although I am not fully settled into it, I am definitely starting to get settled into my new routine, so it feels nice to start a fresh month off in that routine! Some things I am looking forward to this month: a beautiful photoshoot I did with some of my girl friends yesterday, which we…
