Two Days in NYC

In case you missed it on Instagram, I went to NYC with my best friend last week for a couple days. Technically, it was like three-ish days, but we only got two full days together since we both got there late Wednesday night and she left early on Saturday morning. Anyway, it was my first trip to NYC this year (I know!!) and I was super excited to get some time in the city with one of my favorite people! As usual, I found us a dope (and cheap!) AirBnb in Brooklyn, which was our home base for the trip. Not only is it usually cheaper to stay in Brooklyn, but I love the neighborhood vibe it has compared to Manhattan. The place we stayed was super cute and spacious, but the only downside was that the hosts decided last minute to stay in town and were crashing on the…

How To: Transition Your Summer Wardrobe to Fall When You’re Not Over Summer Yet

How To: Transition Your Summer Wardrobe to Fall When You’re Not Over Summer Yet

Summer is and has always been my favorite season. I love the warm weather, beach trips, lazy pool days, frozen drinks, rooftops, late summer nights and – of course – my birthday. When summer unofficially ends after Labor day, I start mourning it even though the weather stretches on for several more weeks (hello, global warming). The start of fall is bittersweet for me. I DO love fall – the colorful leaves, hot latte szn, cinnamon spice everything – but I have never really understood the hype of fall fashion. Literally EVERYONE I know is obsessed with it and waits all year for it! I must be the only one who feels like summer fashion is where it’s at: bright colors, lots of skin showing, and all the tropical vibes. It is just screaming Alana!! Since the weather takes a long time to catch up to actual fall, September is…

Colourpop “Orange You Glad” Review

Colourpop “Orange You Glad” Review

I recently became obsessed with ColourPop Cosmetics (I’m late AF, I know!) and my most recent order is giving me a serious case of orange crush!! I am a weirdo and made all the products in my order match, but when you are a color freak, you just do stuff like that, ok? Luckily I didn’t break the bank, because @colourpopcosmetics makes their products super affordable! I am a perpetual broke bitch, and don’t like spending a lot of money on makeup anyway, so this part really pleases me. But this brand is by no means a “cheap” one when it comes to quality. The color payoff is amazing, the packaging is always on point, and they even have cute names for everything! This order included: Orange You Glad eyeshadow palette So Juicy lip gloss in Va Va Voom Super Shock Cheek blush in Get Leid Sol Glow Oil in…

Miami Photo Diary

Miami Photo Diary

Since I was in Miami last December and posted not one but TWO super long blog posts (part I & part II) recapping my trip, I decided to switch it up this time and just post pics from my trips with short little captions to provide some context. Enjoy!! πŸ’• Day 1: Flew to Miami, walked around South Beach and got a badly needed manicure that I paid way too much for 😭 Day 2: Worked out at Equinox South Beach which was sooo nice! I would never pay to go there though lol especially now that we know the owner is racist!! After the gym was my first beach day, which I ended by meeting up with my new friend from the flight down and her other friend. Super random night out at a hood ass strip club – on a Wednesday lol. There weren’t any other photos, just…

How to: Get the Life You Want

How to: Get the Life You Want

Every year on my birthday, I take the opportunity to reflect on my last year of life and set goals and intentions for the upcoming year. Since my birthday is about halfway through the year, it’s also a great time to check in on my New Year’s goals and intentions, to see how far I have come and what work I have left to do to meet the rest. It seems like my last few birthdays have come either during or right after a big transition, hardship or struggle. This year is no different, but luckily it feels different this time. For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you probably know I got fired from my job a few weeks ago. Not only am I not upset about it, but I feel like it was the best thing that could have happened to me, and I am SO…
