The Ultimate Solo Traveler’s Guide to Mexico City

I recently spent almost two weeks in Mexico City on a solo trip, and am already thinking of planning a return trip to discover more of the city! Even with 11 full days (or 10 since I got food poisoning one day), I feel like I barely scratched the surface of the city. I mainly wanted to wander around, get lost and explore the city at my leisure, so I really did not plan much in advance of my trip. I also met up with a friend for drinks my first few nights, as she was visiting with her sister during the beginning of my trip, but I spent most of my time alone and really loved it! I could have easily spent another few MONTHS there and not gotten bored. If you are planning a trip but are not sure if you should go alone, or want to save…

The Best Matcha Spots in Mexico City

I have been a matcha lover for over 6 years, but due to stomach issues, I had to completely give up coffee at the end of 2021. The first few trips I went on in 2022 were a fun adventure of finding different matcha spots in new cities, and having great success with it. I was especially excited to check out new coffee shops in Mexico City – given how big the cafe culture is there – and thought my stomach would be able to handle some coffee here and there. Unfortunately, between an ulcer/gastritis flare up before my trip, and getting food poisoning during my trip, I had to avoid coffee altogether. Once I realized matcha was going to be my best friend again, I took it upon myself to try matcha from as many places as I could find. I am happy to report that I found some…

Six Tips for Solo Traveling (and Why You Should!)

I have been solo traveling since I was 17, with my first trip being a solo plane ride to visit my brother in Boston for a week. Since then, I have been on more solo trips than I can count, with the majority of them being completely on my own. I have learned to not only appreciate solo travel, but often prefer it! Read on for my six tips for solo travel, some more stories about my experiences, and why I think you should prioritize it in 2023: Take Yourself Out on Solo Dates It might seem obvious, but you spend a LOT of time alone when you are traveling solo! For someone who is not used to doing things alone – especially for extended periods of time – this might be jarring. In the extreme, it might cause anxiety and depression, which is certainly not the goal of solo…

Why Not Having a Niche is a Good Thing

When I started my blog, exactly four years ago, it was after months of putting it off because I couldn’t pick a niche or a name. This proved to be a nearly impossible task, and held me back from just starting (hello perfectionism and always needing a master plan before taking the first step!) I had been wanting to start a blog for a couple years at that point, but had SO many so-called “brand experts” telling me to “pick a niche pick a niche pick a niche” and I just COULDN’T! One day, I had an epiphany – I could just make the lack of a niche my brand! The name “Queen of All Trades” came to me one day and seemed so perfect that it opened the door to finally starting. Not only is it a play on the term “jack of all trades”, aka someone who tries…

Arizona Travel Recap

Hey y’all! I went on a solo trip to Arizona a couple weeks ago, before starting my new job, and it was INCREDIBLE! 🤩 It was both fun and relaxing, and it totally restored my energy and got me right to start my new job. I had an amazing time, and would TOTALLY recommend this trip to anyone! If you want to find out what I did, keep reading… Day 1 The morning of my flight was a struggle: I accidentally set my alarm to weekdays only (my flight was on a Sunday) and ended up waking up at 8:20, when I was supposed to LEAVE at 8! Luckily I had enough of a buffer that I knew I wouldn’t miss my flight, but I still had a super stressful morning rushing out of the house and dragging my suitcase in two inches of snow AND ongoing snowfall to get…
